CONSTRUCTION MANAGER

Frontier Engineering Group is actively seeking a construction manager with 5 -8 years’ experience of experience with transportation, light rail and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be willing to serve on project in LA county, Orange county, Riverside County, San Bernardino County.

We design and deliver solutions to our clients and business partners in the transportation, infrastructures, rail and transit sector. We are a multidiscipline professional services firm with specialized expertise in structural and civil engineering; construction inspection and assessments; and construction management solutions.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and maintain of the infrastructure construction oversight duties required to support the Project Management staff, Business Owners and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain of standard methodologies, processes, technology and other tools to support the project management
  • Solid communication skills to lead the PMO operations and to communicate to internal clients, and business partners/vendors
  • Client focused, execution-driven, and results-oriented with a demonstrated strong commitment and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

 

  • Conduct inspections and assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction management;
  • Professional Engineer in the State of California or eligible to obtain within 6 months;
  • 5 to 8 years of experience in infrastructure and heavy construction projects;
  • Review of construction drawings and contract documents for transportation and infrastructure projects;
  • Site inspection experience is desirable;
  • Previous experience working on Caltrans projects is highly desired;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

 

Working conditions:

 

The work takes place in the field which may require occasional extended hours or weekends to meet deadlines. In-climate weather may occur.

 

CONSTRUCTION INSPECTOR

Frontier Engineering Group is actively seeking a construction Inspector with 3 -5 years experience of experience with transportation, light rail and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be willing to serve on project in LA county, Orange county, Riverside County, San Bernardino County.

  • Responsible for the inspection of Materials and plant specialists, weights and measures coordinators, survey coordinators, labor compliance personnel, safety coordinators, traffic handling, signing, and electrical specialists, landscape specialists Environmental – construction liaisons, stormwater coordinators, schedule analysts, Claims engineers, partnering coordinators, change order specialists, progress payment specialists, construction coordinators
  • Familiar with inspections of projects under FHWA projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of Caltrans and local agency design standards and criteria, practices, and policies
  • Assist in supervision of site investigations as needed

ASSISTANT RESIDENT ENGINEER

Frontier Engineering Group is actively seeking a construction manager with 3 -5 years’ experience of experience with transportation, light rail and infrastructure projects. The candidate will be willing to serve on project in LA county, Orange county, Riverside County, San Bernardino County.

  • Verify that the performance of assigned work complies with the requirements of the plans, Standard Specifications, and special provisions
  • Verifying that the contractor complies with all contract requirements.
  • Performing, or calling for, required tests to verify work quality.
  • Keeping complete, accurate, and concise records of the work and quantities.
  • Keeping the resident engineer informed of work progress and problems.
  • Responding to any contractor questions about plans and specifications. The assistant resident engineer must not direct the contractor’s work but must immediately notify the contractor when work is not in compliance.
  • Working effectively by knowing construction methods and inspection techniques.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or in Construction Management.
  • Professional Engineer in the State of California or eligible to obtain within 6 months; PMP certificate is a plus
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in construction of roadway, bridges, rail, and heavy construction projects.
  • Previous Caltrans experience and holding of Caltrans Resident Engineer Certificate Program is desirable
  • Engineering inspection experience
  • Knowledge of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), local municipal, and county design standards and criteria, practices, and policies highly desired
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
